A helyes kvantor kiválasztása

Ahhoz, hogy a How much? és a How many? kérdésekre választ adjunk, más kvantorokat kell használnunk a megszámlálható főnevekkel (friends, cups, people), másakat a megszámlálhatatlan főnevekkel (sugar, tea, money), és megint másakat az összes fajta főnévvel.

A "Much" és a "Many" használata

A much és a many szavakat általában a kérdő és a tagadó mondatokban használjuk. Ugyanakkor használhatjuk őket mind állító, mind pedig tagadó mondatokban, a too és a so szavakkal összekapcsolva. Vedd figyelembe, hogy a t many szót önmagában is használhatjuk állító mondatokban, viszont a much szót nem. Állító mondatokban a much helyett az a lot of vagy a lots of szókapcsolatokat használjuk (ezek a kifejezések a many-t is helyettesíthetik).
