Az appreciate igét a gerundium egyedül követi, amikor a gerundium a mellékmondat alanyára utal, viszont egy birtokos melléknév + a gerundium követi, ha a gerundium nem a főnévre vonatkozik. Az appreciate igét egy főnév is követheti.
